VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are in urgent need of disaster volunteers to help our communities in the event of local disasters or to assist evacuees in the event storms such as Gustav and Ike hit the states along hurricane alley as they did during 2008.

Volunteers need to go through training before being deployed, so now is the time to sign up for classes, provided at no charge, so you can be ready to go when the need arises.

We can help you find a good volunteer opportunity to fit your interests. Please help us be ready to help our friends and neighbors if disaster strikes. Nothing feels better than knowing you've made a big difference in the lives of others.

To learn more, please email us or call 931-359-1211.

Register as Safe and Well

Immediately following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the American Red Cross created Katrinasafe.org, a database intended to help families reconnect after the storm. Evacuees were able to register online, by phone or through registries on other organizations’ Websites. The database proved successful and has since been renamed Safe and Well.

The Safe and Well Website is an effective tool to allow families to learn the status of their loved ones. The wildfires in Southern California alone prompted 1,505 new registrations, nearly 34,000 searches, and 402 successful matches on the site.

Safe and Well is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is accessible in both English and Spanish.
